Did Aliens Abduct All The Good F&B Talent? Because They've Disappeared!

Remember the golden age of hospitality? When every bartender knew your drink before you walked in, and chefs were more magicians than cooks? Ah, those were the days.

If you've sensed a shift, you're not the only one. There's a rising concern in the F&B sector about the decline in talent quality. No, we're not talking about that waiter who spilled water all over your date last weekend, though that might be a symptom!

The 90s and early 2000s saw a surge in gastronomy culture. Thanks to shows like "Iron Chef" and "Top Chef," everyone wanted to be the next Gordon Ramsay. Fast forward to 2023, and weā€™re missing that zest. Quite literally!

A survey from the Global Hospitality Association showed that over the past decade, there's been a 30% decrease in professionals ranking ā€˜expertā€™ in their respective F&B domains. Uh-oh!

The bartender from Zooma, once joked, "You want to be a great bartender? Just pour and listen." As quaint as that sounds, thereā€™s truth to it. The industry was once built on passion, resilience, and listening. But, the rise of quick-fix courses and the 'Instagrammable' culture shifted the focus from craft to clout.

Picture this: Italy, 1963. Sophia Loren is sipping an Aperol Spritz on a sunlit terrace. The bartender? A local legend, whoā€™d been perfecting that same Spritz for 20 years. It was more than just a drink; it was a story, an experience.

In the F&B world, stories and experiences are marinated over time. It's not just about shaking up a fancy cocktail or plating up a picture-perfect dish; it's about heart, soul, and a dash of nostalgia.

It's not all gloom and doom! Weā€™re seeing a resurgence of passionate individuals driven by the love for the art. Let's toast to the budding talents, the future legends, and the return of genuine craftsmanship in F&B.

To wrap this up with a quote from Julia Child, ā€œFind something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.ā€ Letā€™s keep our passion alive, and who knows? The aliens might just return our F&B prodigies!

UAE's Culinary Scene Just Got a Barbie Makeover. Ken-Approved!

Oh, come on! Pink sauce on burgers, and tacos having a rose glow-up? And let's not even start on the fuchsia fiesta that is the Barbie dosa! This isn't just a flashback to your childhood dollhouse; it's the UAE turning a page from Barbie's dream cookbook.

Now, let's spill the beet juice. Sure, this millennial-pink, Instagrammable dishes might have everyone and their Barbie clicking like and share faster than Ken can rev up his convertible. But here's the tea: trendy food frenzies like this are akin to that flimsy, sparkly dress you bought for that one party ā€“ it grabs attention, gets a few 'oohs' and 'aahs', but then it's hung in the back of the closet, forgotten.

However, let's get real. Such flashy dishes might get customers through the door, but it's taste, consistency, and genuine culinary craftsmanship that makes them stay. The novelty wears off, but the craving for quality remains.

All in all, hats off to our innovative F&B magicians. You keep us entertained, tickled pink, and always hungry for what's next. But remember, it's not just the sizzle that sells; it's the steak ā€“ or in this case, the perfectly pinked-out dosa!
