DET'S Gastronomy Always On (GAON) survey has just dropped, and boy, are the findings finger-lickin' good! Get ready to have your taste buds tantalized and your culinary senses awakened. Dubai's gastronomic scene is on fire, and this survey is here to spill all the delicious details.

First things first, people in Dubai are dining out like never before. The survey reveals that residents are craving value-based experiences, menu diversity, and culinary excellence. They want it all, (surprise, surprise) and the city's flourishing gastronomy sector is delivering in spades.

The Dubai Gastronomy Forum served up some exciting news, including a look back at the epic Dubai Food Festival 2023. This year's festival was a game-changer, elevating the city's dining culture to new heights, a jaw-dropping 61% increase in the average number of dining occasions per week! That's right, residents are now enjoying a staggering 2.9 dining experiences every week, compared to the previous average of 1.8.

But it's not just about eating out. The survey also highlights a rising trend in dining in, with a 17% increase in the number of occasions per week people order in. Dubai knows how to adapt to changing times, embracing technology-driven services and online food ordering platforms to make sure you can indulge in authentic culinary experiences from the comfort of your own home. Residents now spend an average of AED 162 per week when dining out, or around 51 AED per outing.

We do have to say that these numbers feel quite sketchy in some parts, but with a high difference in buying power among residents, these numbers are possible.

This survey is the icing on the cake, confirming Dubai's status as a global culinary destination. It's not just about the food; it's about the unforgettable experiences that bring people together. With an exceptional lineup of events, street food delights, and a whopping 142% growth in bookings during Dubai Restaurant Week, the festival is a feast for the senses.
